About the position

We are seeking a dedicated Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our healthcare team, providing psychiatric care for residents of a long-term care and rehabilitation facility in Cheyenne, Wyoming. The role involves both in-person visits and telehealth remote visits as necessary, focusing on improving the standard of care for the elderly population.

Responsibilities

• Initial evaluation of existing patient population and their care plans
• Develop and implement new or maintain existing care plans and medications
• Utilize genetic testing when appropriate to correctly prescribe medications
• Recommend psychotherapy when appropriate
• Review progress and assist with patient care
• Review patient progress with clinical team to make recommendations to care plans and improve patient outcomes

Requirements

• Valid PMHNP license in Wyoming
• Previous experience in geriatrics preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of nursing home settings
• Experience in utilization management
• Familiarity with electronic health recording systems
