About the position

The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner at Axis Integrated Mental Health is responsible for the assessment and treatment of mental illness through evaluations and medication management. This role involves collaboration with the Medical Director and management to provide safe, effective, and compassionate care in accordance with state and federal regulations. The position emphasizes a growth mindset, empathy, and a collaborative spirit, aiming to treat the whole person through various therapeutic approaches.

Responsibilities

  • Gather and maintain patient information and health history.
  • Conduct assessments, interviews, and observations.
  • Analyze and evaluate patient data to diagnose mental disorders.
  • Offer and perform medication management and psychotherapy.
  • Possibility to train and provide infusions and trans-cranial magnetic stimulation to appropriate patients.
  • Prepare and maintain confidential records and reports.
  • Devise, update, and conduct treatment plans.
  • Prescribe and monitor the use of medications.
  • Advise families on conditions and treatments.
  • Refer clients to community resources or specialists as necessary.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of treatment regimens and client progress.
  • Stay updated on new developments in the field through professional literature and courses.
  • Provide consultation to other professionals using a psychological approach.
  • Organize community education workshops and attend local community programs.
  • Build a referral base by visiting local providers.
  • Participate in educational outreach activities, such as provider luncheons.
  • Provide industry-relevant tips for the facility newsletter and community blog.
  • Follow company policies and CDC guidelines for infection control.
  • Provide patient education and answer questions from prospective patients and referring healthcare providers.
  • Enforce all HIPAA compliance guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • PMHNP-BC Psychiatric specialization required.
  • Active Colorado DEA license.
  • Active Colorado APRN, RXN license.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Interpersonal and listening skills to interact effectively with diverse individuals.
  • Strong customer service skills to identify and address patient needs.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to work independently.

  • Experience with Athenahealth EMR system.
