About the position
The Stonington Institute is seeking a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) to join a multidisciplinary team in a detox and residential military program. This role offers a Monday through Friday schedule with no call requirement, focusing on providing high-quality behavioral healthcare in a supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide psychiatric evaluations and treatment for patients in a detox and residential military program.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including psychiatrists, registered nurses, and counselors.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions and treatment options.
Requirements
- Board certification as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP).
- Experience in a behavioral healthcare setting, preferably with military populations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
Nice-to-haves
- Double board certification in family and psychiatric nursing is highly preferred.
