About the position

The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner at Esperanza Behavioral Health and Services will provide comprehensive mental health services, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with psychiatric disorders. This role involves collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to deliver effective care and support for patients and their families, ensuring adherence to HIPAA regulations and the highest standards of patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough diagnostic evaluations and assessments of patients with mental health conditions.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and preferences.
  • Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications, ensuring adherence to best practices.
  • Provide psychotherapy and counseling services as appropriate.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans based on outcomes.
  • Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions and available treatments.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in accordance with regulations.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Participate in team meetings and case reviews to discuss patient care strategies.
  • Stay informed about advancements in psychiatric nursing and mental health practices.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatric/Mental Health from an accredited program.
  • Current certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
  • Valid state license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • Experience in psychiatric or mental health settings preferred.
  • Strong clinical skills and knowledge of psychiatric disorders and treatments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
