About the position

We are seeking an experienced full-time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to become a part of our Kingwood clinic! The position is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, providing treatment plans, prescribing medication therapy, and offering counsel across the lifespan. As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, you will play a crucial role in the mental health care of our patients, ensuring they receive the highest quality of care. You will be expected to prescribe all necessary medications and treatments, perform comprehensive physical examinations of patients, and develop and implement patient management policies and procedures. Additionally, you will facilitate referrals to other departments such as psychology, substance abuse, and counseling, ensuring a holistic approach to patient care. Communication is key in this role, as you will need to collaborate with physicians and specialists regarding patient care. Maintaining a customer-oriented approach to meeting patient needs in an expedient manner is essential, and involving the family in the plan of care as appropriate is a critical aspect of your responsibilities. This position requires a strong ability to build rapport with patients, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and possess excellent interpersonal skills to communicate clearly and concisely with all levels of nursing, administration, and physicians. Strong leadership skills are also necessary, along with experience working with children aged 3 and up. Stress resistance is vital in this role, as you will be managing various patient needs and expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Prescribe all necessary medications and treatments

Requirements

  • PMHNP Certified/Licensed for a minimum of one year
  • Previous experience in nursing or other medical fields
  • Ability to build rapport with patients
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate clearly and concisely with all levels of nursing, administration and physicians
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Experience working with children 3 and up needed
  • Stress resistant
