About the position

The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) role in Temecula, California, is a permanent position within an outpatient behavioral health team. This position offers the opportunity to provide exceptional mental health care while working in a supportive and collaborative environment. The role includes the flexibility of telehealth work two days a week, allowing for a balanced work-life dynamic.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, including mental health histories and diagnostic assessments.
• Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
• Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications with appropriate follow-up care.
• Provide therapeutic interventions, including psychoeducation and crisis management.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of psychiatrists, therapists, and support staff to ensure continuity of care.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations.
• See clients ranging from ages 8+

Requirements

• Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing with a focus on Psychiatry (PMHNP certification required).
• Current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the state of California.
• Eligibility to prescribe controlled substances.
• Minimum of 2+ years of experience in psychiatric care, preferably with diverse populations.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-centered approach.
• Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and telehealth platforms.
