We are seeking a well-trained Nurse Practitioner to join the Department of Psychiatry of Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMCHealth). This position is based out of Kingston, NY, and the ideal candidate will have a track record of clinical accomplishments in the treatment of patients with serious mental illness. The Nurse Practitioner will provide services to children and adolescents, which includes triage, diagnostic evaluations, follow-up care, prescribing, and individual counseling and group treatment as part of a multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities also include reviewing patients' medication records to determine the appropriateness of the existing medication regimen. This is an employed position through WMC Advanced Physician Services, which is a subsidiary professional corporation of WMCHealth. The WMCHealth Behavioral Health Center (BHC) is a freestanding facility operating a 97-bed inpatient psychiatric program for children, adolescents, and adults, as well as comprehensive outpatient mental health services. In addition to receiving patients directly from WMC's Emergency Medical Services Department, BHC is also a major transfer center for patients requiring psychiatric hospitalization from across the Lower Hudson Valley. WMC Advanced Physician Services PC (APS) employs doctors and mid-level clinicians working in WMCHealth's hospital-based and community-based clinical programs, including at Mid-Hudson Regional.
