About the position

The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive psychiatric and mental health care services. This position involves not only direct patient care but also the development and implementation of quality assurance procedures to ensure the highest standards of mental health services. The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will serve as both an educator and a consultant, working closely with other healthcare professionals to enhance the overall quality of care provided to patients. This role requires a deep understanding of mental health issues and the ability to develop effective treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs. In this position, the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for maintaining accurate and detailed reports and records of patient interactions and treatment outcomes. Monitoring and documenting symptoms and changes in patients' conditions is essential, as is the ability to modify treatment plans based on patient responses. The role also involves consulting and coordinating with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans effectively. The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will administer medications, assist psychiatrists in their duties, and provide counseling to mental health patients. Developing patient treatment plans and diagnosing mental illnesses are key responsibilities, along with filing medical reports and prescribing medications as necessary. This position requires a proactive approach to patient care, ensuring that all actions align with the policies of the healthcare facility while maintaining a focus on patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records.
  • Monitor, record and report symptoms and changes in patients' conditions.

Requirements

  • Registered and Licensed to practice as Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.
  • Minimum Additional certifications including DEA License and Liability Insurance must be submitted.
  • Skilled in planning, coordinating, documenting and providing patient care while keeping the policies of the healthcare facility intact.
  • Capable of communicating effectively with patients, their family members, and physicians to achieve the highest quality of healthcare.
  • Ability to handle serious situations and provide care on time.
  • Thorough knowledge about administering medical processes and medications prescribed by the physician.
  • Quick in responding to the needs of adolescent, adult, pediatric, and elderly patients.
  • Adept at training and counseling new nurses.
