About the position
The Psychiatric RN position at CPEP involves providing specialized care for patients with mental health disorders in an inpatient hospital setting. The role requires collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient care and involves both direct patient interaction and education for families to support long-term recovery.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct care to assigned patients with mental health disorders.
- Supervise medication schedules and evaluate patient progress.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary professionals to determine and provide the best care.
- Educate patients' families about conditions and supportive environments for recovery.
- Maintain a safe environment through monitoring devices and restraining techniques.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or currently enrolled in a BSN program.
- Valid New York State RN License.
- AHA BLS certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of inpatient psychiatric or medical/surgical experience.
- Proof of full Covid-19 vaccination.
- CPI or PMCS certification required.
