About the position

The Psychiatrist will be responsible for assessing and treating mental illnesses through a combination of psychotherapy, psychoanalysis, hospitalization, and medication. This role requires collaboration as part of a multi-disciplinary team, which includes psychiatrists, psychologists, licensed counselors, social workers, nurses, and other staff members. The goal is to provide comprehensive medical and counseling services to patients, ensuring that their mental health needs are met effectively and compassionately. In this position, the Psychiatrist will organize and coordinate services provided by other professionals as they relate to patient care. This includes participating in processes that ensure the appropriateness and quality of care delivered to patients. The Psychiatrist will also be involved in the development and conduct of educational programs aimed at enhancing the knowledge and skills of the team and the community. Additionally, the Psychiatrist will play a crucial role in promoting the health, safety, and welfare of staff members, while also helping to articulate the mission of Winchester Community Mental Health Center, Inc. to the community. It is essential for the Psychiatrist to acquire, maintain, and apply knowledge of social, regulatory, political, and economic factors that relate to patient care services, ensuring that the center remains compliant and effective in its operations.

Responsibilities

  • Organizes and coordinates services provided by other professionals as they relate to patient care.
  • Participates in the process to ensure the appropriateness and quality of care.
  • Participates in the development and conduct of educational programs.
  • Participates in the surveillance and promotion of the health, safety, and welfare of staff.
  • Helps articulate Winchester Community Mental Health Center, Inc. mission to the community.
  • Acquires, maintains, and applies knowledge of social, regulatory, political, and economic factors that relate to patient care services.

Requirements

  • Medical Doctorate or equivalent education.
  • Minimum 5 years directly applicable experience in managed care, physician management, and/or occupational medicine.
  • Completion of degree and all post-degree supervision for licensure.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Experience working as a medical doctor.
  • Wide knowledge of medical practice and principles.
  • Ability to work in coordination with other physicians towards achieving excellence in patient care.
  • Strong people management and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of the latest laws related to medical practice.
  • Highly skilled in enforcing safety regulations.

Nice-to-haves

  • At least four years of post-degree experience.
