About the position

The Psychiatry Area Sales Manager at Lundbeck is responsible for leading and managing a high-performing sales team to achieve sales goals for the psychiatry portfolio. This role involves setting strategic direction, developing tactical sales plans, and utilizing analytical skills to identify market opportunities and challenges. The position emphasizes collaboration, coaching, and the development of team members to ensure success in a competitive biopharmaceutical environment focused on brain health.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop, and manage a diverse sales team to achieve sales goals.
  • Provide coaching and feedback to Account Managers to enhance their performance.
  • Establish a collaborative team culture that emphasizes accountability and teamwork.
  • Identify local market systems of care and strategic relationships to drive business.
  • Ensure Account Managers can effectively position Lundbeck's products in the market.
  • Monitor execution of marketing plans and evaluate performance of Account Managers.
  • Facilitate local market execution by aligning sales force with cross-functional areas.
  • Analyze sales reports and develop actionable plans to improve sales performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Arts or Sciences from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 3 years of sales management experience in Pharmaceutical or Biopharmaceuticals for external candidates.
  • Internal candidates must have at least 1 year of commercial experience or 2 years of consistent sales success within Lundbeck.
  • Documented track record of sales success and financial management.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to develop and train a sales team.
  • Superior written and oral communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license with a safe driving record.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous CNS sales management experience.
  • Experience in various call points including community mental health centers and hospitals.
  • Experience in marketing, sales training, or managed care account management.
  • Experience working with alliance partners and advocacy groups.
  • Experience in product launch or expansion within sales.
