About the position

As an Area Sales Manager (ASM) at Lundbeck, you will lead and manage a high-performing sales team focused on promoting products within the psychiatry portfolio. Your role will involve setting strategic direction, developing tactical sales plans, and coaching team members to achieve sales goals. You will be responsible for fostering a collaborative team culture, identifying market opportunities, and ensuring effective execution of marketing strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop, and manage a diverse sales team to achieve sales goals.
  • Set and lead the development of area strategic direction and tactical sales plans.
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and inspiration to Account Managers.
  • Establish a collaborative team culture demonstrating personal accountability and teamwork.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing Account Managers.
  • Guide the identification of local market systems of care and patient flow.
  • Build strategic relationships with key opinion leaders and advocacy groups.
  • Ensure Account Managers can effectively position Lundbeck's products in the market.
  • Monitor execution of approved marketing plans and promotional campaigns.
  • Evaluate performance and identify development opportunities for Account Managers.
  • Facilitate local market execution by aligning sales force and cross-functional areas.
  • Analyze sales reports and develop action plans to improve performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Sciences degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 3+ years sales management experience in Pharmaceutical, Biopharmaceuticals, Biologics or related experience for external candidates.
  • Internal candidates must have a minimum of 1 year of Commercial experience or 2 years of consistent sales success within Lundbeck.
  • Documented track record of sales success and financial management.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability to develop, train, and provide feedback to Account Managers.
  • Superior communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Valid driver's license with a safe driving record.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous CNS sales management experience.
  • Experience in calling on customers at various call points, including community mental health centers and hospitals.
  • Previous experience in marketing, sales training, or managed care account management.
  • Experience working with alliance partners and advocacy groups.
  • Experience in product launch or expansion within sales.
