About the position

The Area Sales Manager (ASM) for Lundbeck in Nashville, TN, is responsible for leading and managing a high-performing sales team focused on promoting products within the psychiatry portfolio. This role involves setting strategic direction, developing tactical sales plans, and coaching team members to achieve sales goals while fostering a collaborative team culture. The ASM will also engage with local market systems and build strategic relationships to enhance business outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop, and manage a diverse sales team to achieve sales goals.
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and inspiration to Account Managers during customer interactions.
  • Establish a collaborative team culture focused on accountability and teamwork.
  • Recruit and retain high-performing Account Managers.
  • Identify local market systems of care and provide innovative solutions.
  • Build strategic relationships with key opinion leaders and advocacy groups.
  • Ensure Account Managers can effectively position Lundbeck's products in the market.
  • Monitor execution of marketing plans and evaluate performance of Account Managers.
  • Facilitate local market execution by aligning sales force with cross-functional areas.
  • Analyze sales reports and develop action plans.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Sciences degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 3+ years sales management experience in Pharmaceutical or related fields for external candidates.
  • Internal candidates must have at least 1 year of Commercial experience or 2 years of consistent sales success within Lundbeck.
  • Documented track record of sales success and financial management.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability to develop and train Account Managers.
  • Superior communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Valid driver's license with a safe driving record.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous CNS sales management experience.
  • Experience calling on customers in various settings including hospitals and community mental health centers.
  • Experience in marketing, sales training, or managed care account management.
  • Experience working with alliance partners and advocacy groups.
  • Experience in product launch or expansion within sales.
