About the position

The Psychological Services Specialist, Corrections position at the State Correctional Institution at Chester involves providing psychological services and group therapy to inmates. The specialist will conduct assessments, collaborate with other professionals, and develop therapeutic programs to support inmates' mental health needs.

Responsibilities

• Independently provide psychological services and group therapy to inmates.
• Conduct individual interviews and select appropriate psychological tests.
• Coordinate with professional staff to refer special needs mental health cases for further services.
• Write and prepare psychological reports, including clinical interview results and evaluations.
• Work with the Licensed Psychologist Manager to develop new therapeutic programs.
• Provide initial crisis intervention for inmates.

Requirements

• Two years as a Psychological Services Associate Corrections; or
• A Master's degree in psychology or a closely related field with fifteen graduate level credits in psychology and two years of supervised experience in psychology.
