About the position

Mass General Brigham is seeking a Psychologist to provide clinical services in a comprehensive psychiatric hospital setting. The role involves conducting individual and family therapy, maintaining patient documentation, and participating in program activities. The psychologist will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals and contribute to teaching and research efforts within the hospital.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical services including individual psychotherapy 3 times per week.
• Conduct family therapy where assigned as family therapist 1-2 times per week.
• Co-lead therapy groups.
• Maintain contact with family members as appropriate.
• Document treatment plans, patient encounter forms, progress notes, and clinical summaries in accordance with hospital policies.
• Serve as a liaison to other healthcare professionals and mental health practitioners.
• Interface with payers and managed care organizations for authorizations and reviews.
• Participate in program and hospital administrative activities such as staff meetings and committees.
• Maintain awareness of medicolegal and risk management issues.
• Participate in hospital teaching and research efforts, including supervision of trainees.

Requirements

• Ph.D., Psy.D. or Ed.D degree in psychology from an accredited school of psychology.
• Licensure appropriate to clinical discipline.
• Demonstrated clinical experience relevant to patient needs.
• Basic computer skills for communication and clinical purposes.
• Ability to complete electronic medical records training and demonstrate 80% accuracy on competency test within 30 days of hire.
