About the position

The Psychologist position at Mass General Brigham involves providing clinical psychology services to patients, utilizing various psychosocial techniques to enhance their adaptation to psychological and environmental demands. The role includes conducting individual and family therapy, participating in program activities, and engaging in teaching and research efforts within a comprehensive psychiatric hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical services including individual psychotherapy 3 times per week.
• Conduct family therapy where assigned as family therapist 1-2 times per week.
• Co-lead therapy groups.
• Maintain contact with family members as appropriate.
• Document treatment plans, patient encounter forms, progress notes, and clinical summaries in accordance with hospital policies.
• Serve as a liaison to other healthcare professionals and mental health practitioners.
• Interface with payers and managed care organizations for therapy case authorizations.
• Participate in program and hospital administrative activities such as staff meetings and committees.
• Maintain awareness of medicolegal and risk management issues.
• Participate in hospital teaching and research efforts, including supervision of trainees.

Requirements

• Ph.D., Psy.D. or Ed.D degree in psychology from an accredited school of psychology.
• Licensure appropriate to clinical discipline.
• Demonstrated clinical experience relevant to patient needs.
• Basic computer skills for communication and clinical purposes.
• Ability to complete electronic medical records training and achieve 80% accuracy on competency test within 30 days of hire.
