About the position

The Psychologist (CAT-5 Program Manager) position at the Martinsburg, WV VA Medical Center involves overseeing the Center for Addictions Treatment (CAT-5) program, which provides outpatient and residential treatment for Veterans with substance use disorders. The role includes administrative management, clinical supervision, and direct patient care, ensuring the program's efficiency and effectiveness while coordinating with other mental health services.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Psychology Program Manager for the Mental Health Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program (MHRRTP) at the CAT-5 program.
  • Supervise the Outpatient Intensive Substance Use Disorder (OISUDS) Program.
  • Ensure administrative efficiency, clinical integrity, and effectiveness of the CAT-5 Program.
  • Develop and implement programs, policies, and procedures for the CAT-5 Program.
  • Monitor outcomes using data-driven quality assurance processes.
  • Provide direct patient care, including psychological assessments and evidence-based treatments.
  • Supervise staff in Outpatient Mental Health Services, including LPMHCs, Social Workers, Psychiatrists, and Nurse Practitioners.
  • Provide clinical supervision to trainees such as graduate students and interns.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Hold a doctoral degree in psychology from an accredited program.
  • Successfully completed a professional psychology internship accredited by APA or CPA.
  • Hold a full, current, and unrestricted license to practice psychology at the doctoral level.
  • At least three years of experience as a professional psychologist, with one year at the GS-13 level.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize work, set priorities, and delegate tasks.
