About the position

The Psychologist position at Northwest Ohio Behavioral Healthcare involves providing psychological services to clients, conducting assessments, and developing treatment plans. The role emphasizes trauma-informed care and collaboration with treatment teams to enhance the quality of life for patients through various psychological interventions and program development.

Responsibilities

  • Provide psychological services to clients at NOPH.
  • Perform assessments including interviewing, administering, scoring, interpreting, and reporting results of psychological tests.
  • Provide psychological interventions to individuals and groups, including psychotherapy, behavioral interventions, psychosocial rehabilitation, skills training, and family intervention.
  • Serve as a liaison to or participate in treatment teams, ensuring psychological service needs are met.
  • Consult with treatment teams to develop relevant treatment plans for psychology services.
  • Participate in treatment team meetings as needed and write treatment plans.
  • Independently develop and implement programs of mental health services, including behavior therapy and family programs.
  • Conduct research or participate in programs of research relevant to the facility's work as directed.
  • Serve on committees and work groups as appointed and complete special assignments.

Requirements

  • License to practice psychology as issued by the Ohio State Board of Psychology.
  • Experience in interviewing, risk assessment, testing procedures, and therapy services.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in forensic psychology.
  • Familiarity with trauma-informed care practices.
