About the position

The Psychologist I, Licensed at Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) provides direct clinical services for patients aged 0-26 with endocrine conditions and their families. This role involves mental health evaluation and treatment, psychological assessments, and potential supervision of psychology trainees. The position also includes teaching responsibilities and participation in community presentations, contributing to the development of training programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct clinical services including individual, collateral, group therapy, and case management for patients with endocrine conditions.
• Conduct psychological and developmental assessments as needed.
• Supervise pre- and postdoctoral psychology trainees in clinical settings.
• Deliver didactic presentations and participate in community outreach.
• Engage in clinical and applied research opportunities as they arise.

Requirements

• Ph.D., Psy.D., or Ed.D. in School, Counseling, or Clinical Psychology from an APA-accredited program.
• Licensed in psychology in California.
• BLS Certification from the American Heart Association required.
• Direct clinical experience providing therapy to a pediatric psychology population.
• Experience in clinical supervision of trainees is preferred.
• Knowledge of psychosocial aspects of medical conditions is strongly preferred.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in consultation and liaison within a medical setting.
• Training in Managing and Adapting Practices (MAP) is preferred.
• Bilingual competence in Spanish/English is preferred.
