About the position

The Psychologist III position at the Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine involves providing neuropsychological and psychological evaluations for Veterans enrolled in the DC War Related Injury and Illness Study Center (WRIISC) program. The role includes clinical responsibilities, research initiatives, and administrative duties, all aimed at supporting the mental health and well-being of military personnel. The incumbent will work within a multidisciplinary team and is expected to contribute to research projects relevant to post-deployment health.

Responsibilities

  • Provide neuropsychological and psychological evaluations for Veterans.
  • Conduct research related to post-deployment health and the WRIISC mission.
  • Direct and mentor Psychology Post-Doctoral Fellows, Interns, and Externs.
  • Develop and apply scientific principles concerning brain-behavior relationships.
  • Collaborate with the WRIISC-DC Research Team on psychological and cognitive assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with operational policies and performance measures.

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology with a focus on Neuropsychology and/or Cognitive Rehabilitation.
  • Minimum of 6+ years of experience in the field.
  • Experience in evaluation and treatment of cognitive and psychological issues.
  • Familiarity with military populations and VA medical record systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in research and publication in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Knowledge of emerging neuropsychological research literature and clinical technology.
