About the position

The Psychologist Supervisor at the Gallipolis Developmental Center is responsible for overseeing psychology services, supervising psychology assistants, and ensuring the delivery of quality mental health care to individuals with developmental disabilities. This role involves developing and implementing psychological services, participating in interdisciplinary teams, and adhering to regulatory standards to promote the health and safety of residents. The position may also require after-hours availability for consultations.

Responsibilities

  • Supervising the Psychology Assistant positions at the facility.
  • Developing and implementing psychology services at the facility, including testing, diagnosis, counseling, therapies, treatments, policy development, and data analysis.
  • Chairing the Human Rights Committee to ensure necessary and humane restrictive measures for individuals based on personal history and trauma.
  • Assessing individuals with suicidal thoughts and implementing safety measures.
  • Participating in interdisciplinary team meetings to ensure quality services for residents.
  • Adhering to regulatory standards for the health and safety of residents.
  • Training staff on psychology-related topics and giving presentations.
  • Attending training to maintain professional license.

Requirements

  • License to practice psychology in Ohio as per Section 4732.09 and 4732.21 of the revised code.
  • 12 months of experience as a licensed psychologist.
  • Completion of one course in employee training and development or three months of experience providing work direction and training to psychology students, assistants, or psychologists.
