About the position
The Psychologist Supervisor role at the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities involves overseeing psychology staff, including psychologists and trainees, to ensure the delivery of high-quality psychological services. This position is responsible for planning, developing, and implementing psychological programs while also providing training and development for staff. The role requires strategic thinking and collaboration with various stakeholders to enhance the support provided to individuals with developmental disabilities.
Responsibilities
- Supervise psychology staff including scheduling, assigning work, and monitoring services provided.
- Review work and evaluate performance of psychology staff.
- Recruit, interview, and hire new psychology staff.
- Recommend transfers, layoffs, promotions, and disciplinary actions.
- Plan, develop, implement, administer, and assess psychological programs and services.
- Write policies and establish procedures for the delivery of psychological services.
- Consult with administration and staff on psychological matters.
- Represent the psychological unit at meetings, conferences, and workshops.
- Provide information and advice on psychological matters to other divisions and community organizations.
Requirements
- License to practice psychology in Ohio as per Section 4732.09 and 4732.21 of the revised code.
- 12 months of experience as a licensed psychologist.
- Completion of 1 course in employee training and development or 3 months of experience providing work direction and training to psychology students or assistants.
