About the position

The Psychology Adjunct Instructor position is a part-time role focused on teaching psychology courses at the college level. Instructors will utilize their expertise to foster student success through critical thinking and flexible teaching methods across various educational mediums. This position is part of a continuous recruitment effort to build a pool of qualified candidates for future teaching needs as student enrollment fluctuates.

Responsibilities

• Conduct all class hours as assigned by the course schedule and academic calendar in a professional manner.
• Create professional syllabi that meet Faculty Syllabus Checklist requirements.
• Administer and assess assignments that support the college's general education requirements.
• Meet classes on time and for the full duration of the published class time.
• Notify the division chair and Adjunct Faculty Liaison in case of illness.
• Maintain alternative educational activities for students in the event of faculty illness.
• Support and follow college policies and procedures.
• Assume responsibility for security, maintenance, and inventory of assigned equipment and supplies.
• Prepare and submit accurate attendance rosters, student grades, and other assigned documents when due.
• Assist in the selection of textbooks and maintain updated text information.
• Participate in institutional effectiveness planning by identifying expected student outcomes and improvement strategies.
• Submit assignments and student artifacts for college-wide General Education Assessment when selected.
• Prepare supplemental teaching activities, such as developing Moodle course sites and facilitating review sessions.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Psychology or related field.
• 18 graduate hours in the subject area.
