About the position

The Psychotherapist II at Baylor Scott & White Health provides psychotherapy and counseling services to individuals and families, including group modalities. This role involves assessing the psychotherapeutic needs of patients, developing and implementing care strategies, and overseeing the Embedding Mental Health Program. The position also includes mentoring and training staff, ensuring standardized care, and contributing to program development.

Responsibilities

• Develops and monitors Psychotherapy metrics and goals, aligning them with system goals across the region.
• Serves as the lead Psychotherapist, assisting with daily operations, staffing, and program development through mentoring, counseling, and training of personnel.
• Oversees interns for the Psychotherapy clinic and the Embedding Mental Health Program, serving as a resource and liaison.
• Reviews patient charts and notes to ensure standardized care is provided.
• Evaluates treatment efficiency and patient progress to aid in establishing or revising specifics of treatment.
• Performs all duties of a staff Psychotherapist by providing psychotherapy and counseling, including group modalities.
• Provides emergency intervention and assessment as required.
• Monitors patient cancellations and fills vacant appointment times from the cancellation list.
• Maintains effective communication and coordinates with supervisors and other caregivers regarding patient care choices.
• Fulfills continuing education and certification requirements to maintain qualifications.

Requirements

• Master's degree in a relevant field.
• 3 years of experience in psychotherapy or counseling.
• Licensure as a Chemical Depend Counselor (LCDC), Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Marriage Family Therapist (LMFT), or Professional Counselor (LPC).

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of psychotherapy and related tests, measures, and recovery techniques.
• Ability to interpret diagnostic interviews and test data.
