About the position

The PT Cook/PT Dietary Aide position involves preparing meals and assisting in dietary services within a senior living community. The role emphasizes creating a positive environment for residents while ensuring compliance with health regulations. The Cook will also fill in as a Dietary Aide when needed, with wages reflecting the responsibilities of both roles.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals under the guidance of the Dining Services Director.
• Ensure meals are nutritious, appetizing, and presented attractively.
• Assist in orienting new team members and scheduling.
• Greet elders, families, visitors, and team members to create a friendly environment.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of work areas and equipment.
• Adhere to infection control and foodborne illness prevention procedures.

Requirements

• Formally trained in culinary arts or equivalent cooking experience.
• Willingness to learn and work in a team environment.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Food handlers permit or ability to obtain one as required by state regulations.
• Good verbal communication skills and ability to communicate in English.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check.
• Ability to perform job responsibilities with or without accommodation.
