About the position

The Customer Service Leader at Food Lion is responsible for providing fast, friendly, and flexible service to customers while assisting the Customer Service Manager and Assistant Customer Service Manager in maintaining operational standards. This role focuses on maximizing sales through excellent customer service and ensuring a positive shopping experience for all customers.

Responsibilities

  • Provide prompt, accurate, and friendly service to customers.
  • Greet each customer and use their name whenever possible.
  • Ensure store office functions are completed accurately and on time.
  • Maintain knowledge of office procedures including cash reports and deposits.
  • Ensure the front end area of the store is neat and clean.
  • Report any register malfunctions to the Customer Service Manager.
  • Perform the tasks of a sales associate when scheduled or as needed.
  • Maintain alertness and call for assistance when needed.
  • Wear the Food Lion uniform and adhere to the dress code.
  • Observe and correct unsafe conditions that could cause accidents.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
  • Ability to perform the technical requirements of cashier and service center.
  • Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position.
