About the position

The PT Deli Associate at The GIANT Company plays a crucial role in providing quality customer service and handling deli products. This position involves receiving, processing, preparing, and packaging deli items while maintaining cleanliness and safety standards. The associate will contribute to creating a welcoming environment for customers and ensuring that all deli products are presented attractively and safely.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality customer service to customers, co-workers, vendors, and business associates.
• Receive, process, prepare, wrap, slice, weigh, mark, and package deli products.
• Maintain proper shelf, case, and display conditions, including stocking, cleaning, straightening, and rotating products.
• Ensure proper cooler conditions by coding, rotating, organizing cases of product, and cleaning.
• Maintain cleanliness in the prep area, including sanitizing work surfaces, utensils, and equipment.
• Adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations related to the deli area.
• Keep the sales floor safe and clean by sweeping and mopping as needed.
• Provide friendly and courteous customer service, answering questions and promoting products through suggestive selling.
• Dress according to company policy and maintain a neat appearance at all times.
• Complete ELM training courses as required.

Requirements

• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
• Ability to communicate and understand company policies and safety regulations.
• Must meet ergonomic and physical requirements for the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to use or learn to use the equipment and tools necessary for the job.
