The Electronics Lab Technician position is a part-time, grant-funded role that provides essential technical and instructional support for the Electronics program. The technician will assist in the development, maintenance, and delivery of lab activities, ensuring that professional standards and practices are upheld. A significant aspect of this role involves mentoring students enrolled in the Electronics Technician program, thereby contributing to their academic success and retention. The technician will collaborate closely with faculty members to enhance teaching methodologies and delivery systems, ultimately aiming to improve student learning outcomes. In this position, the technician will take on various responsibilities, including serving as an instructor's assistant in teaching electronics courses and labs. This includes developing and grading exams and instructional materials, maintaining office hours, and engaging directly with students in a formal learning environment. The technician will also assist in the setup, maintenance, and repair of electronics equipment and instructional materials, ensuring that all resources are available and functioning properly for students. The role requires the technician to remain current in the discipline, updating course content as directed by the course instructor. Additionally, the technician will work with the CEO, Associate Dean of Reskilling & Technology, and other faculty members to develop and implement assessment processes and tools for evaluating teaching effectiveness and student learning outcomes. The technician will also participate in student recruitment, retention, and advisement activities, serving as a resource for faculty and actively engaging with the community through professional development activities and advisory committees. The technician will assist with the procurement of equipment and materials necessary for the courses they are responsible for and will collaborate with regional electronics and manufacturing employers to create internship and work experience opportunities for students. This role is vital in supporting strategic initiatives and performing other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the Electronics program and its students.
