About the position

The Physical Therapist Inpatient Part-Time position at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission involves evaluating, planning, and administering treatment techniques as prescribed by physicians. The role requires maintaining high professional standards, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and providing comprehensive patient care from evaluation through discharge. This part-time role is scheduled for Thursdays and Fridays, with one weekend day per month, and emphasizes whole-person care in a supportive environment.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates, plans, and administers appropriate treatment techniques as prescribed by a physician.
• Administers patient treatments in a professional manner and within hospital standards.
• Completes timely and thorough documentation of patient care.
• Works directly with physicians and other rehabilitation staff to provide comprehensive care.
• Maintains a professional team relationship with co-workers and assists with duties as needed.
• Communicates honestly and addresses issues in a private setting.
• Respects each discipline's expertise and maintains patient privacy.
• Completes evaluation, progress, and discharge notes in a timely manner.
• Educates patients and families in self-care and prevention techniques.
• Participates in department inservices, meetings, and activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
• Kansas Physical Therapist License.
• BCLS obtained through the American Heart Association.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's Degree in Physical Therapy or related field.
• Doctor of Physical Therapy degree.
• 2 to 5 years of position-related experience.
