About the position

The PT Instructor for Electrical courses at Midland College is responsible for successfully instructing designated electrical courses and assisting with the creation of course curriculum. This part-time position requires the instructor to prepare and communicate clear educational objectives while presenting current and accurate course content to students. The instructor will maintain a professional teaching environment and communicate with the Training Coordinator regarding room, media, and copy needs. Additionally, the instructor will maintain control of purchased supplies for the class and provide students with evaluation forms for completion. Other duties may be assigned as necessary to support the educational mission of the college. The instructor must be available to teach in the afternoons or evenings, reflecting the needs of the students and the college's scheduling. The role is part of an applicant pool, meaning that the position is available as needed, and applicants may be contacted when there is a demand for instruction in electrical courses. The instructor will work in both office and classroom settings, with duties that may extend outdoors, and must be able to work extended hours and attend Midland College or community events as required.

Requirements

• Minimum of three years of field experience as an electrician.
• Active Electricians License through appropriate State agency.
• Licensed Journeyman.
• OSHA certification.
• Must be available to instruct in afternoons or evenings.

Nice-to-haves

• Master Electrician.
• Prior classroom or on-the-job teaching experience.
