About the position

The PT Local Sort Supervisor position at UPS is a part-time role based in Daytona Beach, FL, where the individual will be responsible for supervising, training, and developing workgroups while ensuring adherence to safety, production, and attendance standards. This role is crucial in maintaining high standards for account productivity, accuracy, customer service, organization, communication, cooperation, and safety. The supervisor will provide innovative and effective leadership, fostering a functional working relationship with all levels of personnel throughout the organization. In this position, the supervisor will develop and maintain good working relationships with employees, management, and customers. They will facilitate training for both new and current employees, ensuring that all team members adhere to safety policies and procedures at all times, and operate in full compliance with departmental, corporate, and local government requirements. The supervisor will manage department resources to ensure maximum output, accuracy, and efficiency, while also establishing a positive, team-oriented work environment that emphasizes employee involvement, proactive communication, inter-departmental cooperation, and continual improvement. Additionally, the supervisor will implement personal development plans for employees to ensure their ongoing professional growth. This includes providing specific and detailed orientation, skills and safety training, regular evaluations, and proactive coaching to support continued development. The role requires strong communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment, making it essential for the supervisor to be adaptable and responsive to the needs of the team and the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises, trains, and develops workgroups responsible for safety, production, and attendance.
  • Sets and maintains high standards for account productivity, accuracy, customer service, organization, communication, cooperation, and safety.
  • Develops and maintains good working relationships with employees, management, and customers.
  • Facilitates training with new and current employees.
  • Ensures all employees adhere to safety policies and procedures at all times.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or International equivalent - Preferred
  • Ability to lift 70 lbs./32 kgs.
  • Availability to work flexible shift hours, up to 5 days per week
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Management experience - Preferred
