About the position

The Service Technician at Premium Velocity Auto (Jiffy Lube) is responsible for ensuring customer confidence in vehicle safety by evaluating needs and performing necessary services. This role does not require prior automotive experience, as training will be provided, but a background in customer service or sales is preferred. The position offers opportunities for growth and cross-training in various roles, emphasizing a safety-focused work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide impartial recommendations tailored to guest's needs based on manufacturer recommendations and technician findings.
  • Work efficiently to service customers in a timely manner, prioritizing safety.
  • Vacuum and sanitize the interior of vehicles and clean windshields upon vehicle entry.
  • Perform preventative maintenance such as oil and filter changes, refill fluid levels, and inspect and replace lights, wiper blades, brakes, and tires following J Team Service Standards (JTSS).
  • Conduct automotive maintenance on various systems including engine, transmission, axles, steering, suspension, brakes, electrical, heating/air conditioning, tires, batteries, and spark plugs.
  • Perform multi-point inspections of vehicles to ensure compliance with emission standards and maintain detailed records as needed.
  • Participate in regular on-site and e-learning training, maintaining compliance with safety requirements, OSHA, and state regulations.
  • Engage in marketing events and promotions.
  • Maintain customer, inventory, and service records, and assist in inventory stocking.
  • Perform housekeeping and minor building maintenance tasks.
  • Promote customer loyalty by ensuring quality workmanship, reviewing services with guests, confirming satisfaction, and encouraging return visits.

Requirements

  • Dedication to following safety policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Willingness to undergo on-the-job training and possess a growth mindset.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift over 50 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, crawl, and climb stairs.
  • Comfortable working in an enclosed and/or semi-outdoor environment.
  • Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.

Nice-to-haves

  • All levels of automotive service and repair experience considered.
  • State Motor Vehicle Inspector License preferred.
  • Proven face-to-face customer service or sales experience preferred.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Keen listening and reasoning skills to capture guests' product needs.
  • Confident in overcoming objections and not afraid of rejection.
  • An energetic and positive attitude that is welcoming to guests.
