About the position
Southern Health Partners is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to work at the Washington County Jail medical unit in Jonesborough, TN. This position requires 12 hours of work weekly. The Medical Director provides a full range of on-site medical services for inmates, with no back office services as nurses are on-site providing quality healthcare services to the incarcerated population. The provider will monitor and provide oversight for medical services on a flexible schedule, a couple of hours per week. On-call responsibility to our Medical Staff will be needed. This is an excellent opportunity for a provider to deliver primary care, collaborate with correctional and medical staff, and provide a valuable service. Responsibilities
- Visits the facility to review care, see patients, prescribes medication, general referrals for outside providers
- Countersigns any orders or programs notes seen by medical staff
- Supports standards of care and supervises care given by other professionals, providing instruction as needed
- Keeps patient information confidential as required under privacy laws and regulations
Requirements
- Must have clear background for security clearance
- Must have current licensure as required for job duties
- Experience in Family Practice and/or Emergency Medicine is a plus
