About the position

The Administrative Therapy Aide at Children's Mercy is responsible for providing essential administrative support at the front desk, coordinating departmental supplies, and assisting therapists with patient interventions. This role ensures the effective organization of the department, including patient check-in, scheduling, and maintaining safety records. The aide plays a crucial role in fostering a welcoming environment for patients and families while promoting safety and efficiency within the department.

Responsibilities

  • Greets and assists patients, families, and visitors, ensuring a friendly atmosphere during check-in and registration.
  • Schedules appointments for new and follow-up outpatient visits.
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of the clinic environment for safety.
  • Organizes and manages departmental supplies and equipment.
  • Promotes a safe environment by educating staff on safety policies and identifying safety concerns.
  • Assists therapists with direct patient supervision or care as requested.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Enrollment or pre-enrollment in PT or OT school preferred for student aide positions.
  • No prior experience necessary; on-the-job training provided.
  • Previous experience with pediatrics or in the healthcare field is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Professionalism and mature decision-making skills.
