About the position

The PT Produce Sales Associate at Food Lion is responsible for providing quality customer service within the Produce Department. The role focuses on maintaining standards in accordance with company guidelines, maximizing sales through excellent customer service, and minimizing shrink through proper practices. The associate will engage with customers to create a positive shopping experience while ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with primary emphasis on fast, friendly, and accurate customer service.
• Ensure courteous and helpful interactions with other associates.
• Oversee ordering, receiving, preparation, conditioning, and displaying of merchandise according to policies and guidelines.
• Unload trucks for the Produce Department.
• Utilize company tools such as the average cost inventory system (ACIS) and ordering (CAO).
• Adhere to company guidelines, policies, and standard practices.
• Follow Food Safety and Workplace Safety guidelines and procedures.
• Observe and correct unsafe conditions that could cause accidents.
• Report all associate and customer accidents to the Manager on Duty.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Wear the Food Lion uniform and maintain a neat appearance while on duty.
• Complete required Computer Based Training (CBT) and other training courses.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to use technical information to solve problems.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.
