As a Produce Sales Associate, your primary purpose will be to provide quality customer service within the Produce Department. You will be responsible for maintaining standards in accordance with the standard practice manual, maximizing sales through excellent customer service, and minimizing shrink through proper utilization of standard practice. In this role, you will maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with a primary emphasis on fast, friendly, and accurate customer service to create a positive shopping experience. You will be courteous and helpful to other associates and ensure that ordering, receiving, preparation, conditioning, and displaying of merchandise is done in accordance with policies and guidelines. Additionally, you will unload trucks for the Produce Department and understand and use company tools such as the average cost inventory system (ACIS) and ordering (CAO). You will also be expected to maintain a complete understanding of and adherence to company guidelines, policies, and standard practice. Understanding and following Food Safety and Workplace Safety guidelines and procedures is crucial, as is observing and correcting all unsafe conditions that could cause associate or customer accidents. Reporting all associate and customer accidents in accordance with established Food Lion procedures to the Manager on Duty is also part of your responsibilities. You will ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and wear the Food Lion uniform with an apron, complete with a name badge, while on duty, maintaining a neat and clean appearance in adherence to the Food Lion dress code. Finally, you will successfully complete Computer Based Training (CBT), Training Packet, and Training Aid courses, and perform all other duties as assigned.
