About the position

The Property Supervisor is responsible for overseeing affordable housing communities across multiple locations, ensuring properties are financially sound, well-maintained, and compliant with regulatory agreements. This role involves supervising staff, managing financial objectives, and ensuring high standards of property management. The position also emphasizes staff development and creating an inclusive work environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervises Property Managers and supports them in supervising their staff.
• Coaches and mentors staff to develop a positive working environment.
• Responsible for recruitment of staff within the portfolio.
• Completes timely performance evaluations of staff and assists with performance management issues.
• Meets departmental financial objectives and prepares annual operating and capital budgets.
• Ensures sound financial management of properties and reviews expenditures.
• Oversees resident evictions and ensures compliance with property leases and regulations.
• Inspects properties monthly to maintain high standards and evaluates maintenance operations.

Requirements

• A minimum of three years of supervisory experience with the ability to mentor and motivate staff.
• At least three years of experience working with an affordable housing provider or management company as a Property Manager.
• Strong administrative skills and proficiency in word processing, Excel, and property management software.
• Working knowledge of local and federal housing laws, including Fair Housing and Landlord & Tenant laws.
• Experience with HUD Occupancy and Compliance regulations and other affordable housing rules.
