About the position
The Sales Assistant position is a part-time role focused on providing exceptional customer service in a retail environment, specifically for custom cakes and desserts. The role involves direct interaction with customers and luxury event planners to facilitate sales and enhance customer satisfaction, contributing to the company's growth and revenue.
Responsibilities
- Work directly with customers via phone, text, social media, email, and in-store.
- Learn to price custom orders for a quick and efficient customer experience.
- Provide clerical assistance to the manager.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service.
- Know the location of all items in the store and maintain outstanding store condition.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and a fully stocked retail area.
- Ascertain customers' needs and recommend items that match those needs.
- Welcome and greet customers, managing point-of-sale processes.
- Involve in the receiving of new shipments and keep up to date with product information.
- Accurately describe product features and benefits.
- Work directly with luxury event planners and venues to gather quality leads.
- Provide wholesale pricing to businesses efficiently and maintain relationships for regular ordering.
Requirements
- Proven work experience in sales.
- Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices.
- Proficiency in English.
- Track record of over-achieving sales quota.
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills.
- Customer service focus.
- Tech-savvy, with proficiency in Mac being a plus.
- Multi-tasking abilities.
- Friendly, helpful, confident, and engaging personality.
- Administration skills including filing, organizing, copying, scanning, and printing.
- High school diploma or GED.
