PT Sales Associate Cashier

About the position

The PT Sales Associate Cashier at Food Lion is responsible for providing fast, friendly, and efficient service to customers while maintaining high standards of customer service. This role involves assisting customers with their purchases, handling transactions, and ensuring a clean and organized front-end area of the store. The associate will work closely with the Customer Service Manager and other team members to maximize sales and enhance the shopping experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, accurate, and friendly service to customers.
• Greet each customer and use their name whenever possible.
• Unload groceries from carts to the belt for ease of bagging.
• Check the bottom of every cart and under baby seats for items before completing an order.
• Follow correct bagging procedures and scan customers' orders accurately.
• Handle payment transactions according to standard practice.
• Maintain accurate cash control and follow procedures for refunds and error correction.
• Identify customers needing assistance and offer to take their orders to their car.
• Ensure a neat and clean presentation of the work station and front end area.
• Report any register malfunctions to the Customer Service Manager or MOD.
• Adhere to all company guidelines, policies, and standard practices.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to perform the technical requirements of cashier and service center.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.
