About the position

Sistema Utah is seeking a dynamic and passionate short-term Violin Teacher to lead after-school violin classes at the West Valley 2 Campus of American Preparatory Academy. This position is temporary, covering maternity leave from February 10, 2025, to April 11, 2025, and involves teaching three separate groups of students using the Suzuki Method. The role is part-time and offers competitive hourly compensation based on experience.

Responsibilities

• Teach three separate violin groups after school using the Suzuki Method.
• Provide engaging and effective instruction to students of varying skill levels.
• Collaborate with program directors and administrators for curriculum development and student assessment.

Requirements

• Experience in teaching violin, preferably using the Suzuki Method.
• A college music degree is preferred but not mandatory.
• Ability to work part-time hours, specifically Monday, Tuesday, and Friday from 3:15-7:00 pm, and Wednesday and Thursday from 2:15-6:00 pm.

Nice-to-haves

• Suzuki Method teacher training or certification.
• Previous experience working with children in an educational setting.
