About the position
The Smeal College of Business at Penn State is seeking a teaching assistant for the MBA course on Strategic Management (BA571) to assist Prof. Paul Shrivastava. This role involves supporting the instructor in various aspects of course management during the course period from March 17 to April 29, 2025.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with the instructor on a regular basis to review daily activities and expectations for class/students
- Be present during all or a portion of each class
- Keep attendance and communicate with students via email and Canvas
- Be familiar with readings and assignments and be prepared to help with questions
- Act as a liaison between students and the instructor
- Assist with compiling grades
- Assist the administrative coordinator with various duties related to setting up each course
Requirements
- Experience in research and podcasting
- Ability to communicate effectively with students and faculty
- Familiarity with course management tools such as Canvas
Nice-to-haves
- Previous experience as a teaching assistant or in a similar role
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
