About the position

As a Teller at SouthState, you will take ownership of all tasks and challenges encountered in the operation of your assigned position. You will serve customers quickly, accurately, efficiently, and confidentially according to the South State Bank Service Standards. You will be responsible for understanding the products and services offered by the Bank, identifying customer needs, and expanding customer relationships through referrals. This role requires a neat and professional appearance and compliance with all banking regulations.

Responsibilities

• Serve customers quickly, accurately, efficiently, and confidentially according to the South State Bank Service Standards.
• Understand the products and services offered by the Bank, including facts, features, benefits, rules, regulations, and price structure.
• Identify customer needs and expectations by listening for clues and seek opportunities to expand customer relationships through referrals.
• Maintain a neat and orderly work area and present a professional appearance in accordance with bank policy.
• Ensure compliance with all banking regulations, including Regulation CC and the Bank Secrecy Act.
• Process transactions for savings, checking, and loan accounts.
• Assist in guiding and training new tellers as needed.
• Allow customers access to safe deposit boxes.
• Cash checks and process savings withdrawals within assigned limits and prescribed procedures.
• Sell certified checks within assigned limits.
• Balance transactions on a daily basis.
• Assist with servicing/balancing ATM as needed.
• Utilize the branch capture system as required.
• Follow policies and procedures to complete transactions, minimize operational errors, and maintain proper workflow.
• Understand and follow the branch's security and audit procedures.

Requirements

• 18 months or less experience in a teller role.
• Completion of Teller School and Annual Regulatory Compliance training.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in customer service or banking environment.
• Familiarity with banking regulations and compliance.
