About the position
The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) supports health and wellness by delivering physical therapy services under the guidance of a licensed Physical Therapist (PT). This role is essential in helping patients recover from injuries, improve mobility, and manage pain through the execution of treatment plans that may include exercises, massages, and therapeutic interventions. PTAs monitor patient progress, report findings to the PT, and adjust treatments as necessary to ensure rehabilitation goals are met, ultimately empowering patients to regain their physical abilities and improve their quality of life.
Responsibilities
- Deliver physical therapy services under the guidance of a physical therapist.
- Respond to phone calls.
- Coordinate appointment scheduling.
- Perform massage and stretching as needed.
- Prepare therapy equipment.
- Clean and sanitize the therapy area.
- Assist in lifting or moving patients.
- Monitor patients throughout therapy sessions.
- Guide patients through exercises when required.
- Provide patients and their families with information on aftercare following therapy.
Requirements
- PTA state licensed
- Associate's degree in Physical Therapy
- CPR certified
