About the position

The PTC Creo Design Drafter position in Canoga Park, CA, is a contract role that requires a candidate proficient in PTC Creo drafting software and knowledgeable in electro-mechanical systems. In addition to drafting, the candidate will be expected to produce cable and harness drawings, utilize Model Based Definition (MBD) and Product Manufacturing Information (PMI), and conduct detailed tolerance analyses. The position demands a strong understanding of mechanical drafting principles, particularly within the Defense Industry, and familiarity with ASME Y14.5 (GD&T) standards. The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance is also a requirement for this role, reflecting the sensitive nature of the projects involved.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize PTC Creo drafting software to create technical drawings and plans for Defense Industrial projects.
  • Familiarity with electro-mechanical components and their integration within systems, including motors, sensors, and actuators.
  • Produce cable and harness drawings as required.
  • Implement Model Based Definition (MBD) and Product Manufacturing Information (PMI) in drafting processes.
  • Conduct detailed tolerance analyses to ensure design accuracy and compliance.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in drafting software such as Pro/ENGINEER.
  • High School diploma or equivalent with 6 years of related experience, or a bachelor's degree with 2 years of related experience.
  • Previous work history with mechanical drafting in the Defense Industry.
  • Experience using ASME Y14.5 (GD&T) standards.
  • Familiarity with PTC/CREO and Siemens Teamcenter software.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.
