About the position

The Public Affairs and Community Relations Manager at Holcim will play a crucial role in building and scaling the company's engagement with communities, local government officials, and other stakeholders. This position is responsible for managing government relations, stakeholder relations, and community connections, ensuring that Holcim's reputation as a key community partner is protected and enhanced. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in government relations and political acumen, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Help build and scale Holcim's ongoing work with communities and local government officials.
  • Establish regular contact with politicians, political advisers, civil servants, and regulators.
  • Organize or attend regular meetings with stakeholders and report back to colleagues.
  • Monitor proceedings of local government institutions and provide analysis for senior staff.
  • Write or edit submissions to government consultations and provide briefings for senior staff.
  • Build relationships with key local media contacts and keep abreast of important media stories.
  • Work with company lobbyists to shape priorities and messaging for legislative conversations.
  • Execute community outreach strategy and represent Holcim at external meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or 5-7 years of relevant experience in Public Affairs, Public Relations, Government Affairs, or related field.
  • Strong track record in managing government relations programs.
  • Excellent writing and speaking skills for briefings and presentations.
  • Great networking skills to engage with a diverse range of people.
  • Ability to gather and interpret information regarding political developments.
  • Intimate knowledge of the political process in Colorado and regional counties.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree or relevant certification in a related field.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications and managing complex Gantt charts.
