About the position

The Public Affairs Planner will support MARFORPAC at Camp Smith, HI, focusing on communication planning and integration in alignment with the MARFORPAC Campaign Plan. This role involves coordinating Public Affairs and Communication Strategy efforts, providing expert advice on doctrine and policy, and improving planning processes within the command. The planner will also conduct research and analysis to inform communication strategies and ensure alignment with MARFORPAC objectives.

Responsibilities

• Support communication planning and integration for the MARFORPAC Campaign Plan and Order.
• Align and coordinate Public Affairs and Communication Strategy efforts with Higher and Adjacent Headquarters.
• Assist in communication planning for Operations Plans and Concept Plans.
• Improve Public Affairs and Communication Strategy planning processes within MARFORPAC and subordinate commands.
• Provide expert advice on Public Affairs and Communication Strategy doctrine and policy for joint commands and operations.
• Develop positions and proposed changes to existing or new Information-related doctrine as required.
• Participate in cross-organizational working groups, representing command Public Affairs and Communication Strategy equities.
• Conduct research and analysis to inform communication strategies.

Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years of experience with a BS/BA; 6 years with MS/MA; 3 years with PhD.
• Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
• Extensive experience working with the Department of Defense, INDOPACOM, and the USMC.
• Critical thinking skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
• Knowledge of the U.S. military structure, culture, and language.
• Ability to develop and brief technically complex information to senior military and civilian leadership.
• DoD Secret Clearance.
