About the position

The Public Affairs Specialist will be responsible for developing, executing, and evaluating strategies for the integrated distribution of multimedia content across various channels, including the NRL's website and social media. This role involves creating compelling content to communicate the Laboratory's mission to both internal and external audiences, as well as serving as a technical expert in web-based and social media outreach programs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a strategy for multimedia content distribution on internal and external channels.
  • Create and manage content for the NRL's website and social media platforms.
  • Write, edit, and share stories with local, national, and international media.
  • Develop and brief campaign plans to NRL Executive leadership.
  • Generate tailored content using press releases, videos, photos, and presentations.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
  • Must obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance.
  • At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-05/10 or NO-02 in federal service.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in leadership roles.
  • Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.
