About the position

The Public Affairs Writer at Tria Federal will support the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Port Hueneme Division (NSWC PHD) Public Affairs Office by developing content for various media formats. This role requires a talented individual with a passion for writing and a commitment to delivering high-quality results. The writer will engage in research, create compelling narratives, and collaborate with editors and clients to ensure the material meets publication standards, particularly adhering to AP style guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Develop content for various types of media, including advertisements, articles, blogs, magazines, and video scripts.
• Establish credibility with editors and readers through clean prose, strong research, and the use of sources and citations.
• Choose subjects that interest readers and write scripts, biographies, and other formats.
• Conduct research to obtain factual information and authentic details.
• Write copy for newspapers, magazines, broadcasts, and the Internet.
• Present drafts to editors and clients for feedback.
• Work with editors and clients to shape material for publishing.
• Edit articles to ensure compliance with AP style.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in public affairs writing or related field.
• Experience with AP format/style.
• Strong interpersonal skills and self-motivated.
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work independently.
• B.S. in associated fields.
• Must be a US Citizen with an Active Secret security clearance or ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.
