About the position

The Public Areas Assistant Manager at Sunseeker Resort Charlotte Harbor is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and cleanliness of all public areas within the resort. This role involves leading and mentoring a team of Public Area attendants to ensure exceptional guest experiences while adhering to the resort's policies and procedures. The position requires effective communication, strong leadership, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of service and cleanliness.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor all public areas to ensure they are well maintained and cleaned effectively, including lobby/reception, hallways, restrooms, and staircases.
  • Manage key control by assigning and ensuring all keys are signed for by Public Area Attendants and recovered accordingly.
  • Provide continual supervision of Public Area Attendants through work area inspections to ensure standardization and quality of work.
  • Ensure lockers are well stocked and clean, and order supplies as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records for guest areas and public areas in need of repair, reporting to the proper channels.
  • Complete daily paperwork regarding work areas that may need service and report any uncovered work areas to management.
  • Handle Lost & Found items and report any accidents to security.
  • Assist in conducting physical inventory of linen and manage daily briefings and meetings with Resort Services team members.
  • Foster consistent levels of extraordinary customer service to achieve high guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain effective communication with leadership and team members regarding goals and objectives.
  • Create a work environment that promotes service, teamwork, and individual recognition.
  • Train and mentor team members to meet departmental standards.
  • Evaluate new programs and services, staying updated on hotel industry technology.
  • Enhance guest experience by refining procedures and seeking guest feedback.
  • Manage guest requests and complaints, ensuring immediate resolution and follow-up for satisfaction.
  • Develop collaborative relationships with support departments to ensure seamless guest experiences.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies in accounting, payroll, and employee relations matters.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two to three years in a supervisory role.
  • Minimum of two to three years of public area experience in a hotel/resort setting.
  • Experience with Forbes Star and AAA Diamond standards is a plus.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to function well under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong leadership abilities and sound judgment.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and project management skills with attention to quality and detail.
  • Interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Forbes Star and AAA Diamond standards.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
