About the position

The Public Art Project Manager is responsible for planning, developing, and implementing public art projects for the City of San Antonio's Department of Arts & Culture. This role involves managing multiple public art capital projects, ensuring adherence to public art policies, and leading a team of professionals to deliver high-quality public art installations. The position requires effective project management skills, including planning, scheduling, and quality assurance, to ensure successful project outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage public art capital projects from inception to completion.
  • Ensure compliance with public art policies and guidelines throughout project phases.
  • Lead a team of professionals, including artists and design professionals, to deliver projects.
  • Develop project plans, schedules, and quality objectives for public art initiatives.
  • Conduct project kickoff meetings and communicate roles and expectations to team members.
  • Monitor project milestones and identify potential risks to the schedule.
  • Assess project variances and implement necessary changes to stay within scope and budget.
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews with stakeholders upon project completion.
  • Provide constructive feedback to team members regarding project performance.
  • Supervise and develop project personnel according to established policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Two years of project management experience.
